Title:
RAY TRANSMITTING FILTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001066421
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a ray transmitting filter having excellent light resistance by using a specified ray transmitting filter having a layer containing an organic dye and a resin.

A ray transmitting filter having a layer containing an organic dye and a resin is used. As for the ray transmitting filter used, the filter has the minimum transmittance in a 500 to 600 nm wavelength range, and has 40 to 95% transmittance at the minimum. Moreover, the filter has ≥70% average transmittance in each of 400 to 500 nm and 600 to 700 nm wavelength ranges. By controlling the transmittance to 40 to 95% at the minimum in the 500 to 600 nm range which causes dazzling, brightness of the whole display can be kept while dazzling is suppressed. By controlling the average transmittance to ≥70% in each of both 400 to 500 nm and 600 to 700 nm wavelength ranges, a good color balance in red and green is obtained.
