To provide a reaction-retarded quick lime capable of suppressing scattering; and its production method.

An organic solvent, e.g. methanol 2, is added to a particulate matter of reaction-retarded quick lime 1 to convert the particulate matter into a granular matter. In another way, an organic solvent, e.g. methanol 2, is added to a particulate matter of reaction-retarded quick lime 1 to bond the particulates of the matter to each other by a capillary phenomenon caused by the evaporation of the methanol 2, thus converting the particulate matter into a granular matter. The organic solvent added to the particulate matter may be ethanol without being limited to methanol.
