REACTIVE DISTILLATION PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR CARRYING IT OUT

PURPOSE: To operate a reactive distillation column under the optimum condition by introducing reagents to the reactive distillation column provided with reaction cells and distillation cells, maintaining a distillation condition in the column, circulating a liquid phase upwardly through the catalysts in respective reaction cells and circulating a vapor phase of distillation upwardly so that the vapor phase comes into contact with the liquid phase in the distillation cells.
CONSTITUTION: Reagents F are introduced to a reactive distillation column provided with reaction cells R having catalyst beds and with distillation cells D consisting of distillation trays 5. (Each reaction cell R is separated from all distillation cells D by a non-homogeneous interface). A distillation condition is maintained in the column so as to obtain a liquid phase and a vapor phase. And a liquid phase is circulated upwardly through the catalyst in each reaction cell R. Vapor phase of the distillation is circulated upwardly through each distillation cell D so that the vapor phase is in contact with the liquid phase in the distillation cells D. A desired product is recovered at an end 3 of the column, and the possible diluent of the reagents and the possible excess reagents are recovered at the other end 1 of the column.
