PURPOSE: To increase work efficiency by enabling tool information stored in an ID chip to be read and written without stopping a tool magazine.

CONSTITUTION: A data read-write head 30 is moved by a driving cylinder 31 in synchronization with and in the same direction as rotation of a tool magazine so that data is read from and written in the data memory (ID chip) 8 of a tool T without stopping the action of the tool magazine.
