Title:
READER AND WRITER FOR INTEGRATED CIRCUIT CARD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61264485
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a reader/writer of an integrated circuit IC card which excels in general-purpose properties by using a discriminating means and a writing means which sets the driving conditions according to the result of discrimination of said discriminating means.

CONSTITUTION: When an IC card 13 is put into a reader/writer 12, a clock signal generator 15 operates after detecting the loaded card 13. Then a microprocessor 14 and the card 13 are driven. The processor 14 sends a command to a central processing unit 7 set on the card 13 for request of the access conditions. The unit 7 decodes this command and sends the access information on a data memory 5 itself written previously on a specific area of the memory 5 back to the processor 14. Then the processor 14 decodes the answer information given from the card 13 based on a program stored previously and delivers a control signal.
