To provide a reading machine with a page turner function allowing a user to securely turn pages with a simple operation with reduced burden on the user reading a book, and to read the book for a long time without being tired.
In the reading machine, a book is set on a support table 2 with pages opened, pressed and supported from above by stand-up boards 3, 4, a turner board 5, and auxiliary boards 6 and 7. When a page is turned from right to left, the stand-up board 4 is rotated and a mat 4b presses the surface of the page on the right side. At the time, the surface of the page between a presser arm 42 on the turner board 5 and the mat 4b swells and the page is stood up. When the turner board 5 is rotated, the presser arm 42 is detached from the surface of the page, and a turner arm 41 is inserted under the rear side of the page. As the surface of the page is pressed by the turner arm 41, the page is turned. The auxiliary boards 6 and 7, a back pressing rod 26, a center fixing pin 30, and a flat presser arm 32 may be used to further stabilize the page turning motion so that the user can read the book more easily.
