Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup battery system for being used together with the real time clock of an on-board device controller.
SOLUTION: A real time clock(RTC) 25 is subjected to power feeding from a primary power supply 15 such as a vehicle battery in a normal operation. When the primary power supply is interrupted, a backup battery system 40 is accessed and backup power is fed to the RTC 25. This system includes a low voltage dry cell battery mounted in a fuse component 42 constructed for electrical engagement in a vehicle fuse block 42.
