PURPOSE: To enable image rendering in real time without the need of frame storage by expressing an object outline with a curve in the form of an object fragment.

CONSTITUTION: Input parts 11 and 12 which receive the object outlines of an image which is made into raster and displayed and which are provided with at least one object fragment OF and QPF, a sorting part 18 for sorting OF and QPF in a sequence that is made into raster, which corresponds to a scan line with a raster format, a storage part 5 provided with first and second storage areas which are connected to the sorting part and stores data in the sequence that is made into raster, a read part 19 for reading the stored sequence on a real time basis and calculating the object edges of the respective scan lines and priority designation parts 21 and 22 for designating pixel data values in the respective scan lines based on the priority level designated to the object edges and outputting data values from a processor for making it into raster and displaying it.
