Title:
REAR MONITOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05131874
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable distance adjustment, and to recognize rear conditions precisely in a room by linking optical lenses and magnifying glasses or displays composed of solid-state image sensing elements (CCDs) set in front of a driver's seat with optical fibers, and performs projection to reflecting mirrors through the magnifying glasses.

CONSTITUTION: Electronic cameras 10. 11 or optical lenses disposed on the left and right of a vehicle are linked through optical fibers 12 to displays 15, 16 composed of solid-state image sensing elements (CCDs) or magnifying glasses set on a cowl board in front of a driver's seat. Optical lenses 13, 14 disposed at the upper and lower ends of the rear part of the vehicle are also linked through optical fibers to displays 17, 18 composed of CCDs or magnifying glasses. The outputs of the output portions of the optical fibers 12 are caused to enter reflecting mirrors 29 through magnifying glasses 19. In this case, the core surface of each optical fiber 12 is coated. When it is a single line, its end part (a) is formed into a curved surface to maximize incoming picture image ability. Each main output portion is dented at its rear end part b so as to concentrate incoming picture images.
