Title:
REAR SUSPENSION DEVICE OF AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05310024
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To restrain toe-in due to a bump in straight advance by steering a wheel in the toe-in direction with the bump in turning.

CONSTITUTION: A knuckle 3 for supporting a wheel 2 is supported on a car body by an upper link 4, a pair of lower links 12, 13 and a trailing link 9. A spring 7 and hydraulic buffer 8 are connected to the upper link 4 and a stabilizer 14 is connected to the rear side lower link 13. Since an urging force of the stabilizer 14 does not act on the lower link 13 in straight advance, the strokes of the lower links 12, 13 become equal to each other, the direction of the knuckle 3 is not changed and the wheel 2 is not steered. In turning, since the urging force of the stabilizer 14 acts against the stroke of the lower link 13 along with rolling of the car body, the lower link 12 strokes longer than the lower link 13, so that the front side of the knuckle 3 will enter the inside if the car body more than the rear side to steer the wheel 2 in the toe-in direction.
