Title:
REAR WHEEL STEERING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06144283
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of noise caused by the backlash of gears to the utmost and heighten the transmission accuracy of the angle of rotation in a rear wheel steering system.

CONSTITUTION: The rotation of a motor 20 is transmitted to a relay rod 11 through planetary roller mechanism 30 forming reduction mechanism and through ball screw mechanism 40 for converting rotation into linear motion, and lateral rear wheels RW1, RW2 are steered by the axial displacement of the rod 11 according to the rotation of the motor 20. Since a sun roller, a planetary roller and a ring roller 33 forming the planetary roller mechanism 30 are respectively friction-engaged so as not to use gears, the generation of noise caused by the backlash of gears can be prevented, and the transmission accuracy of the angle of rotation can be heightened.
