Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a receiver dryer which can be manufactured surely while decreasing the number of components by disposing a filter element between the discharge end of an inlet tube and the inlet end of an outlet tube and jointing the filter element thermally to the inner surface of a housing.
CONSTITUTION: An inlet tube 28 and an outlet tube 30 are inserted through respective inlet port and outlet port and secured to positions of relative length determined for respective discharge ends. They are brazed to the end wall 32 at a position 74 and a member 50 containing a drying agent is inserted in the axial direction up to one point close to the discharge end of the inlet tube 28. A porous filter element 60 is inserted into a housing chamber 34 in the axial direction up to a substantially middle point in the longitudinal direction and slid along the outlet tube before being secured thereto using a unilateral stop washer part 76. Finally, the remaining open end of the housing is spin closed and the filter element 60 is jointed thermally to the inner wall of the housing 34. Liquid refrigerant circulating through a receiver dryer 20 thereby flows through the filter element 60.
