PURPOSE: To mechanically unload root crops or the like from a container carried in on a pallet and collect an empty container.

CONSTITUTION: A container loader/unloader 3 for putting a full container 5 on an initial carrying end on a conveyer 1 and unloading the empty container 5 carried to a terminal end from the end is placed on a side of the initial and terminal ends which have been close to each other, wherein a container receiver/ inverter 6 for receiving the full container 5 from the conveyer 1 and taking out root crops 4 or the like in the container 5 onto a load receiving part (water tank 2) beside the conveyer 1 after inverting the container is placed on a way of the conveyer. Thus an operation for taking out the root crops 4 or the like from the full container 5 and collecting the empty container 5 can be mechanically performed without manpower.
