To provide a receiver in which optimal gain setting and DC offset correction can be realized and thereby signal quality of a received signal can be improved.
The receiver includes a gain variable amplifier 103 which regulates a receiving signal level by using gain depending on a control signal, a receiving signal level measuring circuit 119 which measures a receiving signal level, a DC offset estimating circuit 118 which measures the DC offset of the receiving signal to set an estimate value, DC offset correcting circuits 112 to 115 which correct the DC offset of the receiving signal by using the estimate value which has been set, and a control circuit 120 which sets measuring times of the receiving signal level measuring circuit and DC offset estimating circuit depending on the receiving signal level measured by the receiving signal level measuring circuit to output a control signal S121 to the gain variable amplifier 103 so as to set the receiving signal at a preset level.
