PURPOSE: To execute a proper and wide range of automatic tracking action by utilizing a frequency code sent with a program effectively.

CONSTITUTION: When a signal with an RDS (radio data system) data superimposed thereon is received, a transmission system identification circuit 11a identifies the transmission form of an AF code (frequency code) list and stores the frequency code of a broadcast station of the the same program content and the frequency code of an adjacent station of same series into a storage means 11c based on the result of identification while distinguishing the codes. An automatic tracking control circuit 11f executes two kinds of automatic tracking operations based on the AF code stored in the AF code storage means 11c. That is, when the automatic tracking of the broadcast station of the same program content only is implemented or the automatic tracking to the broadcast station of the same program code is not implemented, the automatic tracking including adjacent stations of the same series is implemented.
