Abstract:
Provided are a receiving apparatus and a control method for efficiently storing data of a broadcast program in a storage medium. The receiving apparatus comprises: a broadcast signal acquisition mechanism, which acquires a broadcast signal from a broadcast wave of a digital broadcast; a storage mechanism, which stores data of a broadcast program acquired from the broadcast signal; a network content receiving mechanism, which receives data of content respectively provided by one or more content servers on a network; a content information receiving mechanism, which receives content information, wherein the content information is content information provided by one or more content information server on the network, and the content information is used to determine the content server(s) providing the content; and a control mechanism, which determines, on the basis of the content information, whether to store the data of the broadcast program in the storage mechanism.
