Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily display characters such as 'KANJI' (Chinese character) which is not stored on reception-side equipment by using a display font that a user generates.
CONSTITUTION: When the user registers the display font, an SC key and an SE key are operated for switching to an external character setting mode (S16 and S25). In the external character setting mode, the character code of a display character which is blinked is transferred to a character memory 46e (S29). Then when the user generates pattern data on the blanked character by operating cursor movement keys, the data are set at the transfer destination of the character code (S33). Consequently, the generated display font is registered in a character memory 46e together with the character code.
