PURPOSE: To set the reception frequency by the input of an effective figure only by identifying the effective digit number of the reception frequency from the initial set figure, identifying the reception frequency by the input of the figure of the effective digit and allowing a tuner to tune the said reception frequency.

CONSTITUTION: A controller 11 identifies the reception frequency (f) from the set figure set in case of the direct channel selection and gives a frequency control data PCD in response to the reception frequency to a PLL circuit 12. A corresponding table TBL is stored in a memory MEM of the controller 11, and the effective digit number, the position of the decimal point and the unit of frequency (kHz or MHz) are identified from the band (AM/FM) selected at present and the figure of head and the reception frequency (f) is identified without the input of the decimal point and the entry data.
