PURPOSE: To allow an operator to select easily a reception monitor mode matched with the purpose of the operator by providing at least two monitor modes having different period monitoring sequentially and selectively plural channels.
CONSTITUTION: A control section 5 fetches a data based on an (M) key operation via a data bus 10. Then the control section 5 executs a slow monitor mode based on this data. In the slow monitor mode, the control section 5 selects a talking channel based on a random number data from a random number generator and controls a radio section 3 so as to conduct the reception monitor by holding the talking channel. Simultaneously, the control section 5 sets the internal slow monitor timer and starts clocking. When an (RESET) key or the (M) key is operated during the reception monitor like this, the control section 5 fetches the data based on the operation via the data bus 10, resets immediately the slow monitor timer and transits to the standby state or the fast monitor mode.
