To provide a recessed luminaire capable of retaining a direction of a single-based discharge lamp even when a mounted attitude of the luminaire body is fluctuated.

A luminaire includes a luminaire body 7 which is embedded in a ceiling and has an opening 11 for projecting light opened on the ceiling, a reflecting plate 27 which is supported by the luminaire body 7 and is opposite to the opening 11, a lamp socket mounted on an end of the reflecting plate 27, a single-based fluorescent lamp which is supported by the lamp socket and has a base on one end of a tube-shaped bulb, and a lighting device 18 which is built in the luminaire body 7 and is projected to an opposite side of the opening at a position deviated from a center of the luminaire body 7 to one end side. The luminaire body 7 includes a plurality of mounting metal fittings 22a and 22b symmetrically formed with respect to a center of the luminaire body 7, and the reflecting plate is detachably supported by the mounting metal fittings through screws 31.
