Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rechargeable lithium ion battery having high discharge capacity and improved cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A rechargeable lithium ion battery includes a LiMnO-based solid solution as a positive active material with an average primary particle diameter from 50 to 300 nm. The charge potential of a positive electrode is greater than or equal to 4.55 V vs. Li during first charge and less than 4.5 V from second charge.
