PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a driving motor and to provide a device with additional functions to regulate pressure in a system and relieve pressure during an operation at high pressure, by installing said device which increases a load produced at the starting of a compressor.
CONSTITUTION: By electrifying an electromagnetic coil 50 with a control current i1 at the starting of a compressor, a plunger 54 moves downward against the force of a spring 62, and a push bar 54a, forced into contact with a suction valve 31, opens the suction valve 31 also against the force of a spring 34. Even if a piston makes reciprocating movement, under this condition, a compression chamber is open to the open air through a suction chamber 40, whereby the piston is reduced in its driving torque and the device can be reduced in its size and weight. Further, when the air in a system is brought to an abnormally high pressure state, a control current i2 flows through an electromagnetic coil 52, a valve body 56 moves downward against the forces of springs 34 and 63, and opens a passage 57 interconnecting a discharge chamber 41 and the suction chamber 40 to decrease the pressure in the system.
