PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating cutting tool capable of obtaining the force other than the driving force of a drive motor as the cutting force by solving problems that the force in the axial direction applied to a slide shaft (the cutting force) is obtained only by the driving force of a drive motor while the vibration of the slide shaft can be absorbed by reciprocating a counterbalance opposite to the slide shaft in a conventional reciprocating cutting tool such as a reciprocating saw.
SOLUTION: The counterbalance 50 reciprocating opposite to the slide shaft 30 is energized in the reciprocating direction by compression springs 55-55. The energizing force of the compression springs 55-55 works as a force for reciprocating the slide shaft 30, and is added to the cutting force.
