Abstract:

To provide neutralizing chimeric and humanized antihuman-interleukin-9 (IL-9) antibodies.

Several murine anti-IL-9 monoclonal antibodies and humanized and chimeric antibodies or antibody fragments having specificity for IL-9 which are derived from three CDRs identified as antibodies MH9A3, MH9D1, and MH9L1 are described. A method of preventing, ameliorating or treating asthma, bronchial hyperresponsiveness, atopic allergy, and other related disorders comprises administering the antibody to a patient.
