Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent useless consumption of other ink when ink in a color is not in existence in the case of color recording with plural kinds of ink materials and to confirm whether or not received facsimile image data are recorded in ink normally.
SOLUTION: In the case of print recording of recording data from an external computer, a recording head 5 is moved to positions of photo sensors 81, 82 prior to the recording, ink is jetted as a test with respect to all the kinds of ink, and if it is discriminated that even one color ink is not in existence, the recording is controlled not to be conducted. In the case of recording a received facsimile image, after the recording, the ink is jetted as a test to check the ink remaining quantity and if it is discriminated that the ink is not in existence, the received image data are stored in the image memory.
