To provide a recorder which can record high-quality images by restricting effects of a deviation of a dot forming position between a first half scanning time and a second half scanning time to be small, when dots are formed by the scanning in a first half direction of reciprocation and the scanning in a second half direction of reciprocation of a recording head onto columns including an increased part for raising a recording resolution in a main scanning direction, and a recording method.
In forming dots by the first half scanning and the second half scanning of the recording head onto columns including the increased part for raising the recording resolution in the main scanning direction, dots on the same odd-number column Co are formed by the first half direction scanning and the second half direction scanning of the recording head. Moreover, dots on the same even-number column Ce are formed by the first half direction scanning and the second half direction scanning of the recording head.
