Abstract:
PURPOSE: To acquire information with a high degree of reliability from the stop position of a carriage by varying the stop time of the carriage at a recording position according to a recording period and the number of recording channels.
CONSTITUTION: A wait time WT at each recording position of a carrier 30 per channel is calculated before starting recording operation and is stored in a RAM 77. Then, the carriage 30 is moved from the left edge (right edge) to a first recording position and then is stopped. Then, the color of a ribbon assigned to the measurement channel is selected and is made to oppose a wire hammer 33 to drive the wire hammer 33 and to perform dot recording. Then, the color of the ribbon is returned to a reference color. Then, the carriage 30 is stopped by the amount of wait time data at each recording position of the carriage 30 per channel being stored in the RAM 77, thus increasing the stop time of the carriage 30 at each recording position and reducing the stop time of the carriage 30 at the right or left edge.
