Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which can flexibly control recording corresponding to a capacity of a memory mounted to meet a user's request.
SOLUTION: It is judged whether an add-on memory is mounted or not, and available total capacity (M) of a RAM of a fundamental memory for storing recording data and the add-on memory is examined from the judgment result. The total capacity is compared with capacity (N0) of recorded data necessary to record by one scanning using overall ink discharge nozzles or recording heads, and a capacity of a buffer memory for temporarily storing the data to be transferred to the heads is decided from the comparison result. It is decided whether recording by multi-scanning recording by using the buffer memory of the decided capacity is conducted or recording for completing recording using all ink discharge nozzles of the heads by one scanning is conducted.
