PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of image deviations and clogging of recording paper by detecting the end corner of the reference moving edge of the recording paper at resist roller part in synchronization to paper feeding and judging the presence or not of abnormality of paper feeding and performing required processing.
CONSTITUTION: The end corner of the reference conveying line of the recording paper PR which is fed with its edge part being held by a paper discharging turn roller 15 and turn belt 26 as a reference line is optically detected in synchronization to paper feeding by a photoelectric transducer 361, light emitting element 362, etc., whereby the presence or not of abnormality of paper feeding is detected. When the results of this give judgement of abnormality, an alarm device is energized by the inversion output corresponding to the detection output and at the same time the roller 13, etc. revolve backward, whereby re-feeding of paper is accomplished. The number of the reverse revolutions of this roller 13 is counted with a counter and when the count value becomes the specified value or over, remedy for fault is requested and the occurrence of image deviations and paper clogging is prevented by the recording paper free from deviations. The similar results may also be obtained even by the use of a microswitch, ultrasonic wave transmitter and receiver for the corner detection.
