PURPOSE: To provide a recorder which enables an ink ribbon to be used repeatedly and be mounted easily, by a method wherein a storing part for an ink ribbon is constructed in the form of a cassette, and the cassette containing ink ribbon has a symmetiric construction.
CONSTITUTION: A winding roll 6 on which the ink ribbon capable of transferring images repeatedly is wound is mounted in a frame along a groove in frame side plates 1, with a hub 7 placed on the left, and the roll 6 is fixed by a lever 5. Similarly, a winding roll 6a is also mounted. The vertical position of end faces of the ribbon 14 is adjusted by adjusting a screw shaft 12' in the front-back direction. The cassette is placed into a main body of the recorder by using a handle 15 and rails 4a, 4b as guides, and recording is started. After the ribbon 14 is completely wound up on the roll 6a, the cassette is drawn out by using the handle 15. Since the cassette has a symmetric construction, it can be reversed and placed into the main body in the same sequence as above, and then the recording is restarted.
