Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable an abnormal state to be recognized securely and speedily without need for inspecting a recorded paper, by providing an abnormality- detecting means for comparing a preset normal recording time and an actual recording time, in a recorder using a host computer

CONSTITUTION: Of recording information sent from a recording information generating part such as the host computer, recording data D are inputted into a recording-controlling part 2, and data Ps representing the number of pages to be outputted are inputted into a recording amount data memeory 6. A calculating part 7 sets a normal recording time on the basis of the data Ps inputted into the memory 6, and inputs the normal recording time into a set value memory 8. On the other hand, an actual recording time (t) required for actual recording is outputted from a recording part 4, and is inputted into an actual recording time memory 5. On completion of recording, the calculating part 7 compares the preset normal recording time with the actual recording time, and when the difference between the two is in excess of a preset allowable limit, the part 7 sends an abnormality detection signal to an indicating part 9, thereby turning ON a lamp or the like.
