Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize more diverse applications by a method wherein, when main data is recorded, information about the main data is recorded as subcode data on a recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: A system controller 11 supplies subcode data to an encoder/ decoder part 8 so as to correspond to the EFM encoding operation of main data, and it is recorded inside a main data frame in a disk 1. Even in a magnetooptical region on the disk 1, a Q-channel is used, and various kinds of operations are realized. Then, when a subcode is defined in the magnetooptical region, recording and time stamping by an external timer and character recording in large quantities can be realized as a recording and reproducing apparatus for a minidisk system.
