PURPOSE: To reduce the number of component parts and to reduce cost for a recording apparatus that make multicolor recording with a plurality of ink ribbon used interchangeably by a method wherein a displacing means displacing a take-up mechanism engaged with a ribbon take-up roller is made to double as a stopper mechanism for a ribbon storage part.

CONSTITUTION: When a solenoid 83 of a take-up mechanism displacing means 80 is turned on, a driving member 82 is moved rightward and thereby a transmission member 81 and a stopper 84 are displaced rightward. Then, a projecting shaft 311 of a ribbon take-up mechanism 30 is displaced rightward and the ribbon take-up mechanism 30 turns counterclockwise, and thereby an intermediate gear 33 separates from a take-up gear 211 of a ribbon take-up roller 21, setting the ribbon take-up roller 21 free. When printing is operated, the solenoid 83 is turned off, and while the ribbon take-up mechanism 30 is engaged with the take-up gear 211 of the ribbon take-up roller 21 in order to take up an ink ribbon 20, the stopper is engaged with a ribbon storage part gear 12, and thereby the ribbon take-up roller 21 is prevented from being displaced.
