Abstract:
To solve the problem that there is a risk of improper conveyance of a medium when the medium is stretched too loosely or too much.SOLUTION: A printer 10 includes a housing part 14, a recording part 20, a feeding roller pair 42, an intermediate roller pair 46, a second motor 54 and a third motor 56, and a control unit 28. The housing part 14 houses roll paper PR. The feeding roller pair 42 is placed upstream of the recording part 20 in the conveyance direction, and nips the roll paper PR. The intermediate roller pair 46 is rotatably placed between the feeding roller pair 42 and the housing part 14 and nips the roll paper PR. The second motor 54 and the third motor 56 apply tension to the roll paper PR between the intermediate roller pair 46 and the housing part 14. The control unit 28 can switch between a first mode for applying a first tension T1 and a second mode for applying a second tension T2 that is smaller than the first tension T1 to the roll paper PR between the intermediate roller pair 46 and the housing part 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
