Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely detect the position of a carriage by a method wherein a magnetic recording head consisting of a magnetic scale part and a slider, which fits to the magnetic scale part and is made of polyphenylene sulfide containing the specified amount of filler.
CONSTITUTION: A slider 12, which is the second member of the constitutional members of a magnetic head 8, is formed into a hollow tube and inserted onto a magnetic scale part 7 so as to be provided slidably to the magnetic scale part by means of sliding bearing parts 12a made at both the end parts of the slider and fixed to a carriage 1. Onto the inside of the slider 12, an MR element board 13 made of insulating glass is fixed or concretely arranged through a gap (g) parallel to the magnetic scale part 7. The portion, which is opposite side to the board 13, of the magnetic scale part 7 is magnetized so as to form magnetized part 7a. The slider 12 is made of glass filler-containing polyphenylene sulfide material. The content of the glass filler is 10-50%.
