To improve sheet feeding performance.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a support part 4 which rotatably supports a roll R around which a sheet S is wound; a drive part which rotates the roll R supported by the support part 4 in a first direction to feed the sheet S from the roll R, and rotates the roll in a second direction to rewind the sheet S to the roll R; a conveyance path which guides the sheet S fed from the roll R in the feeding direction; conveyance means which is provided on the downstream side in the feeding direction in the conveyance path to convey the sheet S; and a recording part which records an image on the sheet S conveyed by the conveyance means. The conveyance path has a first position at which the sheet reaches the conveyance means in the feeding direction and a second position on the upstream side with respect to the first position, and performs, before the sheet S reaches the conveyance means, a reciprocation operation of rotating the roll R by the drive part in the second direction when the tip of the sheet S reaches the first position and rotating the roll R by the drive part in the first direction when the tip that has reached the first position reaches the second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
