To provide a recording device capable of adjusting a gap between a recording head and a medium support without using a complex mechanism.

The recording device includes: a head supporting portion 24 for supporting the recording head 25 which performs recording on a surface to be recorded of a sheet; the medium support for supporting the sheet in a state of facing to the recording head; a carriage 23 supporting the head supporting portion to be movable in the vertical direction in which a distance between the recording head and the medium support varies as well as moving in the horizontal direction along the surface to be recorded of the sheet supported by the medium support; and a gap forming member 26 interposed between the head supporting portion and the carriage and forming a vertical gap, and mounted to at least the head supporting portion or the carriage to be turnable around an axis along the vertical direction. The gap forming member includes a thickness changing part formed so that the vertical plate thickness which regulates the gap by being sandwiched between the head supporting portion and the carriage changes in the turning direction.
