Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform determination of presence or absence of a recording medium by utilizing a movable region of a movable edge guide in a recording device provided with a tray accommodating the recording medium and having the movable edge guide.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a recording head 3 executing recording onto a recording medium P; a first tray 7 accommodating the recording medium P; a feeding roller 11 capable of feeding the recording medium P inside the first tray 7 toward the recording head 3; at least one first movable edge guide 43 being provided to the first tray 7 and having a regulation section 34a regulating a width of the recording medium P and a reception section 34b receiving a rear surface; a first reflection section 13 provided such that at least a part thereof is positioned at a movable region of the first movable edge guide 43 being a placing surface of the first tray 7; and an optical sensor 17 provided upward in a direction Z perpendicular to a placing surface 7a of the first reflection section 13. The reception section 34b of the first movable edge guide 43 is configured such that detection light of the optical sensor 17 can reach the first reflection section 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
