Abstract:
To provide a recording device that is configured so that a paper is prevented from being erroneously nipped when the device is in a non-operating state.SOLUTION: The recording device is provided with a recording part that performs recording on a recording medium, a roller pair that conveys the recording medium while holding the medium and can switch between a separating state where rollers separate from each other and a pressure-welding state where the rollers are pressure-welded to each other; and a sensing part that senses that the recording medium is at a position of the roller pair, which further comprises a control part that when the recording device is transferred into a non-operating state where the device does not perform recording, performs a pressure-welding process for transferring the roller pair in the separating state into the pressure-welding state. When the sensing part senses that the recording medium is at the position of the roller pair, before performing the pressure-welding process, the control part performs an avoiding process for avoiding the roller pair from holding the recording medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
