Title:
RECORDING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01182067
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of an electrode drive circuit by an overcurrent by forming ink through application of a specified energy to liquid ink and controlling an applied energy value by using an energy application drive means so that said value is limited to a level below a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A patterned voltage, e.g., +15V is applied to transported ink 2 on an energy application position where the ink 2 comes into contact with a recording head 5, in accordance with a pixel signal from a recording head 5 controlled by a control system. As a result, an electric current runs to an ink transport roller 1 from an electrode element 5d through the ink 2, and the cross-linking structure of the ink 2 changes by electrochemical reaction in the ink. Subsequently, the ink 2 selectively becomes viscous to form an ink image 2a. Further, if a head electrode comes into contact with the ink transport roller 1 due to defective coating, etc., during energization, an overcurrent does not run.
