Title:
RECORDING HEAD OF INK JET RECORDING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2699813
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an ink jet recording head having a structure where a pressure chamber is not independent of a piezoelectric element by allowing ink to discharge from a hole inner part, using a distortion generated by the supply of ink into the hole of the piezoelectric element and the application of a voltage.
CONSTITUTION: A piezoelectric element head part has a through hole 2 of 20 to 100μm dia. provided in the center of a piezoelectric element 1 and electrodes 3a, 3b coated on both end surfaces of the piezoelectric element 1. Ink 4 is supplied from an ink supply part to the through hole 2. The piezoelectric element head part uses the piezoelectric element 1 of a monolayer structure with the through hole 2 provided in a polarized direction. A voltage is applied to an area between the electrodes 3a, 3b from a drive circuit 6 to drive the electrodes, and consequently, a distortion generates in the piezoelectric element 1 to allow the piezoelectric element 1 to become elongated in the direction in parallel to the center shaft of the through hole 2. A pressure wave which presses ink 4 to an outlet on an opposite side to the side to which the ink is supplied, generates and consequently, ink droplets 5 are discharged to an outside from the through hole 4.
