PURPOSE: To enable high-contrast recording and recording with semiconductor laser by forming hydrate contg. a reducing agent on the surface of WO3 and by partially sticking Pt thereon to manufacture a recording material.
CONSTITUTION: Electrode layers 2 are formed on both sides of an α-Al2O3-base ceramic substrate 1. After vapor-depositing WO3 on the layers 2 to about 3,000W 5,000 thickness, hydrate layers 3 are formed by immersing the substrate 1 in a soln. of chloroplatinic acid contg. alcohol, aldehyde or acid of PH3 as a reducing agent and by irradiating light on the surface of the deposited WO3 for 10min from kW high voltage mercury lamps at 50cm distance from the substrate 1 to photoplate Pt. The hydrate layers 3 are dotted with WO3 and have Pt stuck partially on the surfaces.
