This recording medium conveyance unit is provided with a box body FP extended linearly to connect an upstream side first processing unit EX and a downstream side second processing unit DE. A main conveyance path R1 extended in the box body FP slantingly relative to the shaft center X1 of the box body FP, and an auxiliary conveyance path R2 for deflection extended in a curved shape from at least one end of the main conveyance path R1 to the outlet part of the first processing unit EX or the inlet part of the second processing unit DE arranged on the side face of the box body FP, are arranged connectedly with each other. The auxiliary conveyance path R2 is extended from the end of the main conveyance path R1 on the opposite side with the shaft center X1 interposed therebetween from the outlet part or inlet part arranged on the side face of the box body FP.
