Abstract:
To provide a recording medium transport device that can change the applied pressure of a pressure applying roller 8 against a grid roller 20 at multiple levels so as to be compatible with different types of sheets.SOLUTION: The recording medium transport device includes: a medium set lever 46 that is supported by a machine body movably in a predetermined direction; a plurality of pressure applying bases 24 that are attached to a head guide rail 6; a shaft body 22 that is supported rotatably along the head guide rail 6; pressure applying arms 30 each of which has a pressure applying roller 8 and is supported oscillatably by each pressure applying base 24 around a shaft part; energizing force applying means that applies to each pressure applying arm 30 energizing force in a direction where the pressure applying roller 8 faces the grid roller 20; and motion conversion means that converts movement of the medium set lever 46 into rotational movement of the shaft body. The energizing force of the energizing force applying means against each pressure applying arm 30 can be changed at multiple levels in accordance with the rotation of the shaft body 22 driven by the movement of the medium set lever 46.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
