Abstract:
To provide a recording medium heater that prevents thermal deformation of a recording medium caused by preheating operation of heating means.SOLUTION: A recording medium heater provided downstream, in a recording medium conveyance direction, from a liquid ejection unit that ejects a liquid to a recording medium and configured to heat the recording medium, comprises: a heating unit that heats the recording medium; and a heat blocking unit including a heat blocking member that blocks heat emitted to the recording medium from the heating unit, and a heat blocking member movable member that moves the heat blocking member to change it into a heat blocking state or heat non-blocking state. When reaching a transformation point due to heat from the heating unit, the heat blocking member movable member changes the heat blocking member into the heat non-blocking state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
