Abstract:
PURPOSE: To record images of good quality without causing improper discharging even in the long-time continuous recording operation by providing a comparison process wherein a count of ink drops accumulated in an accumulation process or a representative value is compared with a predetermined threshold value, and a control process wherein sucking is recovered in accordance with the comparison result.
CONSTITUTION: A counted value of recording dots A is added to a value of the total recording dots B stored in an EEPROM 17. The added value is set as a new value of the total recording dots B. The B is compared with a predetermined threshold value C. When B<C is held, it is judged not to be a case wherein dissolved air bubbles are left stagnant in the continuous recording operation to obstruct proper discharging of recording liquid drops. Accordingly, the process is returned and the recording operation is continued. On the other hand, if B≥C is held, it is judged as the case wherein the dissolved air bubbles are stagnant in the continuous recording operation and the recording liquid drops are not discharged properly. The process is returned to perform a suction recovery operation. Even when the recording operation is continuously carried out for a long time, it is prevented that the air bubbles remain in a common liquid chamber within a recording head to cause improper discharging of recording liquid drops.
