PURPOSE: To cut recording paper according to length of recording by counting the length of the recording paper, controlling reverse paper feeding operation and paper discharging operation on the basis of the counting result, and cutting the recording paper.
CONSTITUTION: In normal recording operation, only a paper feed roll 18 is driven by a pulse motor 24 by the connection of a paper feed roll clutch 25 to feed the recording paper. When a cutting process is entered after recording, the recording paper is fed to a cutting position in said driving state. When the recording paper reaches the cutting position, a cutter 19 makes one turn by a magnet plunger 28 to cut the recording paper. The clutch 25 is disengaged after the cutting and a reverse paper feed roll clutch 21 and a paper discharging roll clutch 26 are engaged; while the reverse paper feeding operation of the recording paper is controlled by a motor 22, the discharging operation is performed by driving the discharging roll 20 by a cutter motor 27.
