PURPOSE: To decrease a distance between recording paper sheets to be conveyed.

CONSTITUTION: Only a gate train G1 or G2 including gates 13-1-13-10 corresponding to containers 10-1-10-10 for storing recording paper sheets are opened as indicated by broken lines, and the other gate trains are closed as indicated by full lines. Before the completion of storage operation by the opened gate train, a distance between the recording paper sheets is made larger than the lengths Ls1, Ls2 of the gate which is a distance between the gate positioned on the front side of the respective gate train and the gate positioned on the rear side in order to prevent the subsequent recording paper sheet from being stored erroneously. By dividing the gate train into plural pieces to decrease the length of the respective gate train, it is possible to decrease the distance between the recording paper sheets.
