PURPOSE: To attain proper track control independently of the warp and inclination of a disc by detecting DC offset voltage corresponding to the inclination of the disc and controlling the track by a signal obtained by subtracting the voltage a control signal.
CONSTITUTION: To detect the DC offset voltage corresponding to the inclination of the optical disc, an optical spot is scanned from the most-inner periphery of the disc to the most-outer periphery by a signal (e) from a sequence control part 39 and a control signal (h) is inputted to an offset voltage detecting circuit 34. The circuit 34 calculates the added average of the maximum and minimum values of the control signal (h) and stores the calculated value in a storage device 36 as an offset voltage. At the recording/reproducing optical information, a driving circuit 23 is driven by a signal (m) obtained by subtracting the offset voltage from a control signal (g) by a subtractor 32 to control the driving. Thus, always proper tracking control is attained even if the disc is warped or inclined at the setting time.
