Abstract:
To provide a recording and reproducing device in which high density recording can be performed without increasing a manufacturing cost.
The device is provided with a magnetic disk 10 (magnetic recording medium) in which a groove G (recessed part 15b: non-magnetic region) is provided between adjacent data recording tracks T (projection part 15a) in a diameter direction and a reproducing head constituted so as to be able to read recorded data from the magnetic disk 10, the magnetic disk 10 is formed so that track width Tw (length along diameter direction) of a data recording track T is 40 nm and groove width Gw (length along diameter direction) of the groove G is 40 nm, the reproducing head is formed so that reproducing head width is 50 nm.
